November 10, 2017 | Volleyball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green volleyball program has signed Hanna Laube to a National Letter of Intent. Soon to be a 2018 graduate of Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School in Burlington, Ontario, Laube is a 5-foot-10 setter.
"We are very excited to officially welcome Hanna and her family to BGSU and our volleyball program," Bowling Green volleyball head coach Danijela Tomic said. "She is a perfect fit for us not just because of her volleyball skills and potential, but also because of her character and values that fit our team culture. I'm looking forward to coaching and helping Hanna reach her full potential as a student-athlete during her time at BGSU."
Laube was selected to the Halton Regional All-Star Team in 2017, and earned the MVP title as both a freshman and sophomore while leading her team as a four-year starter. Serving as volleyball team captain for two seasons, Laube ultimately earned six letters in her time at Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary. In 2017, the Huskies won bronze at the Ontario Secondary Schools Championships (OFSAA).
Expanding her volleyball experience, Laube also competed with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons and Halton Hurricanes club programs, where she was selected to serve as the 2016 team captain. Her club team earned the bronze medal at the Canadian National Championships 2016 and a silver medal at the Ontario Provincial Championships in 2014. Laube was selected to the Canadian Youth National Team in 2016, as well as to Team Ontario as a team captain. In 2017 she was nominated to the JVA Ultra Ankle Watch List.
In addition to her time on the court, Laube has been a four-year honors student, and was a multi-sport athlete, earning silver in the javelin throw at the Golden Horseshoe Regional Championships.
