Falcons Land in Top 25 on All-Academic Team List

BGSU recognized by Easton & NFCA
The Bowling Green State University softball Falcons have been named an Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Academic Team for the 2016-17Â academic year. BGSUÂ tied for 22nd in the nation among all NCAA among all Division I institutions. The rankings were announced by the NFCAÂ office on Tuesday (Oct. 3).

With a team grade-point average of 3.498 for the '16-17 academic year, BGSU tied for 22nd in the country after ranking 29th a year ago. The Falcons were the second-highest ranked Ohio school on the list, and BG also ranked second among Mid-American Conference teams.
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions. A link to the complete list of NCAA Division-I team rankings can be found near the top of this page.
The Falcons wrap up the fall portion of the schedule on Saturday (Oct. 7), hosting Findlay in a doubleheader at Meserve Field. BGSUÂ has a record of 4-2 during the fall schedule, and the Falcons have outscored opponents, 47-12. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., and admission is free.
