Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is proud to announce a sports clinic for National Girls and Women In Sports Day on Feb. 15. The clinic, which will run from 5:30-6:45 pm, will feature each of Bowling Green's women's athletic teams interacting and engaging with children to teach the importance of sport participation, leadership and leading a healthy and active lifestyle.
"Forming friendships, learning life skills, building confidence, and simply just having fun; sport participation should be encouraged at any level," Rachel Durbin, President of SAAC and member of BGSU's Track and Field and Cross Country programs, said. "National Girls and Women in Sports Day is the perfect way for us to partner with the community and promote the sports we love in a fun way."
After the event, all participants are invited to join BGSU women's basketball as the team hosts Western Michigan at 7 pm.
Registration is limited to the first 75 children grades 1-8 and registration must be completed by CLICKING HERE.
All participants will receive a complimentary ticket to the game and a bottled water for use during the clinic.
"We love being able to promote our women's athletic programs while encompassing a fun and engaging skills clinic for young kids," Chet Hesson, Assistant Athletics Director for Academics and Student Services, said. "It's a wonderful opportunity to give back, while also spreading opportunities for athletic participation and highlighting our fantastic women's teams at BGSU."
Note to Parents: Once you have registered your child for the event, BGSU Athletics will send out the liability waiver, as well as the free parking voucher for the event.
