Baseball Completes Successful Winter Raffle

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team recently wrapped up its annual winter raffle, which was the most successful winter raffle in the history of the program. There were a total of 30 winners, with first prize taking home a total of $1,500.
The winner of the grand prize was former player Rob Zenas (sold by Trevor Farrell). Second prize, which was four Indians tickets and a $50 concession stipend, was won by Lesley Daugherty (sold by Cam Daugherty) – the mother of Cam and former player Devin Daugherty. The BGSU baseball coaching staff sold the tickets for the third and fourth-place winners. Michael Flick won four Tigers tickets and a $50 concession stipend for winning the third prize, while Shawn Frick won four Reds tickets a $50 concession stipend for placing fourth. Vicki Leonard placed fifth and won four Mud Hens tickets and a $25 concession stipend (sold by Justin Mott).
"We are extremely thankful to all of our loyal alumni, friends, family and supporters who supported our Falcon baseball program through our winter raffle," head coach Danny Schmitz stated. "This was our most-successful raffle ever, and we are very thankful for everyone's kindness and support. All of the proceeds will go directly to our program, and will no doubt help BGSU Baseball during the upcoming season!"
The Falcons open up the 2017 season in 30 days at national power Texas A&M. The three-game series in College Station, Texas will take place over Feb. 17-19.
