Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team travels to Dayton, Ohio for the Raider Invitational hosted by Wright State. The matches will be held at Springboro High School and the South Regency Tennis Center.

The invite is comprised of seven teams including BGSU. The Orange and Brown will be going up against Akron, IUPUI, Murray State, Dayton, Wright State and UNOH.

"It will be good to get more competition and experience this weekend," Head Coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "It's always fun to watch their personalities and game blend together as we try out different doubles teams. We're ready to get on the court and get the job done."

The Falcons competed at the Greater Cincinnati Invitational to kickoff the fall portion of their schedule. Due to inclement weather, BG was only able to complete a handful of singles matches and the first round of doubles play.

In singles, Marharita-Sophia Tavpash, Anna Kholodnaya and Ayumi Sasaki all captured their first collegiate wins for the Orange and Brown. Also picking up their first wins of the season were junior Emily Witt and sophomores Paula Comella and Polina Radeva.

Kholodnaya earned flight four singles tournament runner-up honors after falling in the championship match to Lucia Seigford of St. Francis, 7-5, 4-6, 11-9.

In doubles, the Falcons had strong performances by the duos of Witt and Tavpash and Radeva and Kholdnaya. In the first flight, Witt and Tavpash teamed up to defeat Belmont's Warren and Whitehead, 7-5. Radeva and Kholdnaya handed Mitrovic and Adams of Duquesne a 6-3 loss in the second flight.

This fall the Falcons will also compete at Purdue Invite (West Lafayette, Ind.) Oct. 7 – 10 and the ITA Midwest Regionals (East Lansing, Mich.) Oct. 20 – 25.
