Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University football team got camp underway Thursday with the first official practice of the fall. First-year head coach Mike Jinks and his staff oversaw the beginning of a new era in Falcon football.
"For the younger guys, this is their first taste of it," Jinks said after practice. "You can talk to them about how fast you run your system, but until they get our there and run around, they don't realize it. We made some mistakes today, but the effort was there and that's where it all starts. Now, we have to fine tune some things."
Jinks will oversee a program that has won two of the past three Mid-American Conference Championships and three straight MAC East Division titles. The Falcons have not a lost a game to an East Division foe since 2012 and was once again picked as the MAC East preseason favorite by the members of the media who cover the league.
