Falcon Swim & Dive Recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

CSCAA Scholar All-America teams release

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's swimming and diving team was recognized by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as a Scholar All-America team for the 2016 spring semester, the CSCAA announced on June 15.

The University of South Carolina topped all Division I women's teams, narrowly edging out the Falcons for the best team grade point average (GPA) over the 2016 spring semester. The Gamecocks' 3.73 was 0.01 ahead of Bowling Green, who finished with a team GPA of 3.72 for the 2016 spring semester under first-year head coach Matt Ense.

The Falcons also received recognition from the CSCAA in the 2015 fall semester with a 3.63 team GPA.

The CSCAA has designated a total 658 swimming and diving teams, both men's and women's program, representing 388 colleges and universities as Scholar All-America teams overall. The recognition comes as a result of each team's classroom performance in the past semester. It is only the second time in the program's 30+ year history of the program that more than 600 teams.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester. Top teams were recognized for both large teams (more than 22 women or 21 men) and small.
