Bowling Green State University Athletics

Open Letter From The AD: I'm Coming Home!
May 25, 2016 | General, Falcon Club
Ay Ziggy Zoomba! I am coming home.
Â
It is my honor to be named the 14th Director of Athletics at Bowling Green State University. Thank you to President Mary Ellen Mazey for giving me this great opportunity. Having graduated from BGSU in 1994, I know this is a special place with special people. I hope that my family and I can add to the success of BGSU.
Â
As I mentioned in the press conference, there are three defining principles to which I expect everyone in the department of athletics to work by:
Â
The areas of focus in the role of Director of Athletics are:
Â
Â
If BGSU remains committed to these principles and focused on these areas, we will be successful. I cannot wait to start to listen and learn how best to move BGSU forward. We must Roll Along, you mighty Falcons!
Â
I would not be doing the job that President Mazey hired me to do if I did not detail how you can help Bowling Green State University. There are three key ways to help us grow Falcon Athletics and provide the best student-athlete experience possible.
Â
If you do these three, we will be successful! I look forward to meeting all of you. Thank you for your time and passion for Falcon Athletics!
Â
Go Falcons!
Â
Sincerely,

Bob Moosbrugger

As I mentioned in the press conference, there are three defining principles to which I expect everyone in the department of athletics to work by:
Â
- Focus on the student-athlete experience
- Possess great integrity – win it right
- Aggressively promote Bowling Green State University
The areas of focus in the role of Director of Athletics are:
Â
- Student-Athlete Experience – Provide BGSU student-athletes with a world class academic and athletic experience. Encompassing academics, athletics and social development must be at the athletics department's core.
- Personnel - Hire and retain quality coaches, administration and support staff.
- Political dynamics - Interpret and communicate intercollegiate athletics to all constituents, both on and off campus.
- Facilities - Improve competitive training and competition facilities so BGSU can recruit and develop the best student-athletes.
- Resource Acquisition - To provide the financial resources necessary for BGSU to annually field teams that are competitive both regionally and nationally.
- Communication - Ensure that there is outstanding communication from the Department of Athletics to the BGSU community, alumni, friends, region, state and nation.
Â
If BGSU remains committed to these principles and focused on these areas, we will be successful. I cannot wait to start to listen and learn how best to move BGSU forward. We must Roll Along, you mighty Falcons!
