BGSU Men’s Golf Signs Nick Hofland

Bowling Green, Ohio – BGSU men's golf head coach Kevin Farrell is excited to announce that Nick Hofland (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada/Hillfield Strathallan College) has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue both his academic and athletic career at Bowling Green State University come fall 2016.
"We are excited to add Nick to our men's golf program," Coach Farrell stated. "He has had some strong finishes at the junior's level and will be able to fit in with our guys right away come next year."
While playing for the Trojans of Hillfield Strathallan College and head coach John Bulger he was named the Team MVP and was an Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations Medalist with a seventh-place finish at the 2015 Province Championships with a 36-hole score of 147, +3.
In 2014, Hofland helped lead his team to a Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA) Conference Championship.
In the junior rankings, Hofland posted three top-20 finishes on the Canadian Junior Boys Tour in 2015. He finished in a tie for 13th in the 2015 Ontario Junior Boys Championship and in a tie for 19th at the 2015 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Randy Wise Junior Open. Hofland also finished in a tie for 20th-place overall at the 2015 Canadian Junior Boys Championship.
In 2014, he finished tied for eighth at the MJT – Boston Pizza National Championship in November and tied for 15th at both the Ontario Summer Games (U17) and the AJGA/CJGA Junior Championship in August. Hofland also carded a 20th-place showing at the 2014 Ontario Junior Boys Championship in July.
As a member of the Golf Association of Ontario (GAO), Hofland placed in a tie for 13th at the 2015 Investors Group Ontario Junior Boys' Championship in July and 20th at the 2015 Golf Canada Junior Boys Championships in August. He also finished sixth at the 2014 GAO Juv. Boys Spring Classic and in a tie for 15th overall at the 2014 Ontario Summer Games (U17) Boys event. He recorded a 20th-place finish at the 2014 Investors Group Ontario Junior Boys' Championship and 28th at the 2014 Investors Group Junior Spring Classic (U19) Boys tournament.
An honors student, Hofland also played soccer for four years at Hillfield Strathallan College.
