BGSU Announces Turf Upgrade; Fans Invited To Vote On Design

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Department of Athletics has announced that a new turf surface will be installed at Doyt L. Perry Stadium in time for the beginning of the 2016 football season. BGSU has partnered with two of the leaders in the industry -- LIRPATurf and SloofDay Design -- for upgrading the facility and design of the new turf.
SloofDay Design has provided BGSU Athletics with four innovative and exciting new designs for the Doyt Perry Stadium playing surface. Fans are invited to view the designs below and vote for their favorite via the link at the bottom of the page.
"We are excited to work with Bowling Green State University on the look of the new turf," SloofDay lead designer Scott Canaday said. "BGSU Football has won three straight MAC East titles and has beaten three Big Ten teams in the past two years. A program with this much history and tradition deserves innovation for the next decade of Falcon football."
Three of the four designs break away from the normal green surface and incorporate BGSU's unique orange and brown color schemes. One design is an homage to the Mid-American Conference. The four new designs are shown below.
Design one features Bowling Green's new secondary forward facing falcon logo. The all-brown turf with orange "Falcons" from end line to end line is a bold departure from the current surface.

Design two piggy-backs on the branding of the Mid-American Conference with #MACtion in each end zone and a large MAC shield logo. This is the only design featuring a green turf.

Design three keeps the traditional Bowling Green logo at midfield with brown end zones and orange "Falcons". The turf is a striking orange.

The orange and brown is on full display in field four. The school's colors alternate every five yards with brown end zones and an oversized Bowling Green logo at midfield.
