Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team will have a busy month of April, as the Falcons will compete in not just one, not two, but three different spring tournaments for their 2016 spring schedule.
"We are looking forward to competing this spring," commented head coach Danijela Tomic. "Spring competition gives us a chance to work on areas that we need to improve on in live match play. It also gives our team opportunities to continue to grow and compete together as a team. Our juniors are now seniors, our sophomores are now juniors and our freshmen are now sophomores so we are a much more experienced team. In addition, we have four freshmen that enrolled in January that have been practicing with us this spring. These tournaments allow them the opportunity to experience college volleyball early, before the fall season, to better prepare them come August."
BGSU will open up its spring slate at the 2016 Oakland University Spring Quad Tournament in Rochester, Michigan on Saturday, Apr. 2. Joining the Falcons at the one-day event will be Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and the host OU Grizzlies.
The Falcons will then turn around one week later to compete at the 2016 Premier Academy College Spring Tourney on Saturday, Apr. 9 in Maumee, Ohio. Past participating teams have included teams such as Ohio State, Ohio, Toledo, Eastern Michigan, IPFW and Cleveland State, as well as Bowling Green.
The spring slate will then conclude on Saturday, Apr. 16 at the Michigan State Tournament in East Lansing, Michigan. The MSU home tournament field will include Wright State, Toledo, Findlay, Ferris State, Grand Valley, Central Michigan, BGSU and of course the Spartans.
