Rockford, Ill. - The Bowling Green State University tennis team fell in their first Mid-American Conference match to Northern Illinois Friday afternoon, 5-2 at the Boylan Tennis Center.

Senior Drew Fillis and freshman Paula Comella teamed up for a doubles victory, blanking Michelle Eramus and Abigail Dekkinga at No. 1, 6-0.

In singles, freshman Polina Radeva and sophomore Emily Witt captured two points for the Falcons. Radeva won in straight sets against Cristina Alvarez, 7-5, 7-6. Witt picked up her second consecutive win with a similar outcome defeating Eramus, 6-1, 6-3.

BGSU returns to action Sunday to face the Broncos of Western Michigan in Kalamazoo, Mich.
