HEAD COACH'S THOUGHTS
Kerrie Turner: "This is a very important competition weekend for our program. We must take this opportunity to score well at home and on the road. We begin on Friday with Central Michigan. CMU is always a strong program and I know our team will be eager to hit 24 for 24 routines. The focus will be on making a strong return to competition after a tough road meet this past weekend at Ball State. I expect the team will correct those mistakes and work on the finer details.
Sunday we travel to West Virginia University. This is a great venue for gymnastics. The excitement of competing against WVU and Ohio State will be intense and motivating. The road score will be a necessity to build our NCAA regional qualifying score. We need to pack a major punch into this weekend. The team is highly determined to really hit two meets in a row. It will certainly be a telling weekend in regards to getting closer to post season qualification."
ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Chippewas (11-2, 3-1) are led by head coach Jerry Reighard and currently sit at second in the Mid-American Conference standings. The junior she tied two personal best scores and recorded another personal best in the three apparatuses she competed on. Heath began her day on vault, where she has shown great consistency, tying her for a team-high 9.800 and tied for third overall. Over the last three meets, she has scored all 9.800s.
