BGSU Football, Kroger Partners To Benefit Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank

Toledo, Ohio - Members of the Bowling Green State University football team, along with the University of Toledo, were on hand to present a check to the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank as part of a partnership with Kroger in the Kroger Sacks For Cash campaign. Football coach Mike Jinks, Defensive Coordinator Perry Eliano and student-athletes Terrance Bush, Ben Hale and Austin Valdez were on-hand for the presentation. Toledo also had members of the coaching staff and team on hand.

Kroger donates $25 to the Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank for every quarterback sack that BGSU and Toledo records during the season. The Falcons posted 26 sacks in 2015 and Toledo had 25. The campaign, which has taken place for each of the past five years, has generated almost $7,000 for the food bank. For every dollar donated, the food bank can provide four meals for those in need.

BGSU and Kroger has a strong partnership that extends beyond the Sacks For Cash program. The two organizations partner for all cancer awareness games and Kroger also utilizes traditional advertising assets, basketball pad signage and hockey dasher board signage in venue at BGSU.
