Bowling Green, Ohio - More than 20 football players performed in front of more than 30 NFL scouts Monday afternoon for Bowling Green's annual Pro Day. With a senior class participating that won two Mid-American Conference Championships and three straight MAC East Division titles, the Falcons had plenty of talent to show off for the scouts.
All eyes were on Roger Lewis, who took part in the NFL Combine earlier this winter. His performance in many of the drills Monday dwarfed those from the Combine. He started with a vertical jump of 36 inches, more than two inches higher than the 33.5 he displayed at the Combine. He had a broad jump of 125 inches, bettering his total by nine inches. He also ran the 40 in under 4.5 seconds (some recording a time as fast as 4.38) after running a 4.57 at the Combine.
Matt Johnson, who quarterbacked the Falcons to MAC titles in 2013 and 2015, broke MAC records for touchdown passes and throwing yards in a season as a senior. After taking part in the drills, he spent a large portion of time showing the passing acumen that made him the MAC's Offensive Player of the Year.
Alex Huettel posted a team-high 33 reps on the 225-pound bench press, while Eilar Hardy finished with a 36.5-inch vertical jump.
