Tibbs, a native of Taylor Mill, Ky. (Scott H.S.), led the Falcons in a plethora of categories as BGSU split a pair of games last week. She averaged 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots against Toledo and Kent State.
Tibbs shot 66.7 perfect from the field (20-of-30) and a perfect 100% from three-point range (5-for-5) in the two games.
On Wednesday night (Feb. 17), Tibbs had a season-high 22 points vs. the Rockets, and she then topped that total with 24 points at KSU three days later. In the UT game, she had a game-high nine rebounds and tied for game honors with three blocks, and the Falcons' center was a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Tibbs made 9-of-15 shots from the field in that game, a 68-60 loss.
At KSU, Tibbs led all players in points (24), rebounds (eight) and blocks (four), and she added a pair of assists and a steal as the Falcons clapped it up for a 65-55 road win. Tibbs went 11-of-15 from the field and again was perfect (2-for-2) from three-point range. Her total of 11 field goals made in that game is the highest by a Falcon in over four years (since January of 2012).
On the season, Tibbs is averaging 12.5 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, leading the Falcons in both categories. And, she leads the MAC and ranks among the national leaders with a field-goal percentage of 57.8%. Tibbs is shooting 43.8% from beyond the arc (14-for-32). In MAC games only, Tibbs has 13.7 ppg and 7.0 rpg, and she is shooting 56.9% overall and an incredible 47.8% (11-for-23) from three-point range.
Tibbs was named the MAC Player of the Week for the East Division, while UT's Janice Monakana earned this week's MAC P-O-W award for the West Division.
The Falcons of head coach Jennifer Roos head to Western New York for a Wednesday (Feb. 24) game vs. Buffalo, before returning to Northwest Ohio for the final home contest of the regular season. BG will host Miami on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 27) at 2:00 p.m., with Tibbs and Miriam Justinger recognized in 'Senior Day' festivities prior to tipoff. Then, the Falcons end the regular season with trips to Ohio (March 2) and Akron (March 5).
