Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference today announced dates for all 2016 MAC football games. In total, defending MAC champion Bowling Green will play six homes games in 2016 (four in conference) with two home contests each in September, October and November. Game times, which are determined by the league's television partners, will be released at a later date.
In conference action, BGSU will host Eastern Michigan for Homecoming Oct. 1. The Falcons will then renew their rivalry with Miami, a series that has not been played since 2013, on Oct. 22. Bowling Green will close out the regular season at home against Kent State and Buffalo on Nov. 15 and Nov. 25. Previously, it was announced that the Falcons would host North Dakota on Sept. 10 and Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 17 in non-conference contests.
Bowling Green will make the short trek to face Toledo in the Battle Of I-75 on Oct. 15. It marks the earliest date of the annual rivalry game since the Falcons faced the Rockets on Sept. 15, 2012.
BGSU's first conference road game will take place the week prior when the Falcons play at Ohio Oct. 8. Bowling Green will play in a MAC Championship rematch at Northern Illinois Nov. 1. The two programs have met in the league's championship game in each of the past three years, with BGSU winning in 2013 and 2015, but it will be the Falcons' first trip to DeKalb, Ill. since 2008. The road schedule will conclude at Akron Nov. 9.
