Falcons’ Narro Makes the Cut at 2016 LAAC

Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic – Playing for his country of Mexico, BGSU junior golfer Jose Narro made the 50 player cut after 36-holes of play at the 2016 Latin America Amateur Championship on Jan. 14-15 in Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic
Played at the par-72, 7,202-yard Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo, Narro recorded a two-round 36-hole score 150, +6. He is only six strokes out of the top-10 heading into the third and fourth rounds of play.
The junior carded a first round score of 74, +2, in which he four birdies and 10 pars on the first day of play on Thursday, Jan. 14. He followed that up with a round of 76, +4, with one birdie and 13 pars on Friday, Jan. 15.
"Jose was able to turn in two solid rounds of golf this week to make the cut at the very deep and talented amateur event," commented BGSU head coach Kevin Farrell. "Jose is playing against some of the best players in all of Latin America, Central America and Europe. If he plays well, he can gain some ground on the leaders to put himself in contention come the final day of play."
Narro will tee-off the third round of play on Saturday, Jan. 16, off of hole number 10 at 9:43 a.m. AST (8:43 a.m. EST). He is slated to play with Esteban Restrepo of Columbia and fellow Mexican teammate Luis Gerardo Garza.
The third round of play on Saturday will be televised from 1-3 p.m. (AST) (12-2 p.m. EST). The final round of play on Sunday will be televised from 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. (AST) (11:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. EST). Check your local listings for availability and times.
