Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team is set to hold its annual Orange and Brown intrasquad meet on Friday, Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. inside Anderson Arena. Admission to the event is free.
The meet will feature the top six to eight athletes on each event - vault, bars, beam and floor.
"I am really looking forward to the intersquad Friday evening," said head coach Kerrie Turner. "We have had several opportunities to run through practice meets this fall in varying formats, however this will be closest to an actual competition. I will be looking closely at how each gymnast handles the pressure and if she can truly hit the routine cleanly. It is also a great opportunity for the team to work together and continue working on how to complete a competition successful from start to finish regardless of what might happen during the meet. I hope our outstanding fans will make their way to Anderson this Friday for a sneak peak of our gymnastics program!"
After the meet, fans are encouraged to stay to receive a team poster and will have the opportunity to get the student-athletes' signatures.
The Falcons officially open the regular season on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. against Arizona State and University of Nebraska in Tempe, Ariz. Bowling Green returns two All-MAC selections from last season in senior Alyssa Nocella and sophomore Laura Mitchell. Last year's MAC co-vault champion, Lauren Feely, also returns to Turner's squad.
