Falcons' Trip to Texas Cancelled
December 28, 2015 | Women's Basketball
BGSU's next scheduled game is Saturday's MAC opener at Miami
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team's trip to San Antonio, Texas, has been cancelled and the two scheduled games will not be made up.
The Falcons were scheduled to participate in the Rae & Craig Blair Memorial UTSA Holiday Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday (Dec. 29-30). BGSU was slated to take on Texas Southern University on Tuesday and the host school, UTSA, the following day. However, the team's scheduled flight from Detroit to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Sunday was cancelled, as were hundreds of other flights in and out of Dallas/Fort Worth due to tornadoes in the area on Saturday. No other flights were available later Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
The Falcons' next scheduled game is now the Mid-American Conference opener on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 2). BGSU will head to Oxford to take on Miami University in a 1:00 p.m. start. After a road game at Western Michigan University (Jan. 6), the Falcons will open the home portion of the MAC schedule on Saturday, Jan. 9, when defending conference champion Ohio University comes to the Stroh Center. That game, part of a BGSU hoops doubleheader at the Stroh, begins a three-game homestand for the women's basketball Falcons.
