BGSU Hockey Announces “Cool” New Seating Option
September 19, 2013 | Ice Hockey
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Department of Athletics has announced the Ice Box, a new premium seating area designed to enhance the fan experience at the BGSU Ice Arena for the upcoming 2013-14 ice hockey season.
The Ice Box will provide seating for four at a high top table located behind the glass on the South side of the arena. In addition to the table and the four seats for the season, the package will include the same arrangements for any playoff games hosted by BGSU.
Ice Boxes will include several perks designed to ensure a great game day experience. Ice Box account holders will enjoy a personalized reserved season parking space, wait staff to deliver food and drink, and will receive a special Ice Box gift .
All of this can be purchased for $1200 ($300 per seat), which works out to be just under $16 a game. Similar to the Anderson Club seating in the Stroh Center, Ice Box account holders must be at the $500 annual Falcon Club giving level and in an effort to maintain consistency with premium seating in other venues, preference will be given based on lifetime giving as well as consecutive seasons as a hockey season ticket holder.
"We're excited to open two new doors this season. The first door opens to a new conference, and the second door opens to The Ice Box. Ice Boxers will really enjoy their game day experience from the time they arrive at their reserved spot in the parking lot and take their seats up against the glass to the second when the final horn blows and the alma mater is sung" said Mary Ellen Gillespie, Associate Athletics Director for External Relations.
This season marks Bowling Green's first in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). Along with the team's conference schedule, the Falcons will take on Ohio State and Colgate in non-conference action, as well as home exhibition contests against Wilfred Laurier and the US National Development Team.
With the program's first season in the WCHA, BGSU fans will get the opportunity to see numerous teams in the BGSU Ice Arena for the first time in recent history. Conference opponents that will visit Bowling Green include Alaska Anchorage, Minnesota State, Alabama Huntsville, Alaska Fairbanks, Lake Superior State, Michigan Tech and Bemidji State. In all, BGSU hosts two exhibition games and 17 regular season games in 2013-14.
