Imholz Named MAC East Pitcher Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio -- The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday morning that sophomore Paris Imholz has been named the MAC East Division Pitcher Of The Week. Imholz has been sensational for the Falcons, building on her MAC All-Freshman Team selection last season. Imholz appeared in nine games this past week, collecting four of the Falcons' five wins.
Imholz picked up a win for Bowling Green early in the week, pitching her second complete-game shutout of the season against ETSU. Imholz held East Tennessee State to just four hits, while also recording a season-best seven strikeouts. Imholz fell one strikeout short of her career-best, set last season against Detroit on April 11. Imholz pitched a second complete game against Southeast Missouri, allowing just one run on four hits in the victory. Imholz finished the week with a 4-1 record, striking out 23 batters in 43.0 innings of play. Imholz registered an ERA of 1.63 over nine games, while allowing just 12 walks.

Lauren Gellerman, Ohio, C

Lauren Gellerman was the most productive player in Ohio Softball's offense last week, hitting .571 in five games. The senior recorded eight hits, two of which were doubles and three were home runs. Gellerman drove in a team-high nine RBI, slugging at an incredible pace of 1.357 throughout the week. The senior also scored a team-high five runs in five games. Gellerman made Ohio Softball history on Thursday night, hitting her 28th career home run to become Ohio's all-time home runs leader. The senior then added two more to her total throughout the weekend, bringing her current mark to 30. In Ohio's most difficult game of the week, a contest at No. 18 Washington, Gellerman provided Ohio's lone offensive spark against the 2009 national-champion Huskies, recording one hit and driving in one run.

Erin Seiler, Akron, P
Freshman, Bowling Green, Ohio/Toledo Central Catholic
Erin Seiler had another solid showing for the Zips in the circle at the Rebel Spring Games, making seven appearances and picking up three victories. Against South Dakota and Lehigh, Seiler issued nine strikeouts in each contest, fanning 34 batters in all in her 38.1 innings pitched over the course of the tournament. She allowed seven earned runs and only three walks in seven games. Seiler currently ranks 14th in the country in walks per seven innings with 0.95.

Hanne Stuedemann, Ball State, RF/DP
Sophomore, Mattawan, Mich./Mattawan
In helping guide the Cardinals to a 3-3 record last week, sophomore Hanne Stuedemann reached base safely in all six games, extending her current streak of reaching base safely to a team-best 16 games … She blasted her first home run of the season in BSU's first game against Florida International and proceeded to hit three more to finish the week with four home runs … Her 1.111 slugging percentage was the best on the squad, while her .522 on-base percentage was third … In BSU's 7-2 win over Michigan State, Stuedemann went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored … She also hit home runs against Florida A&M and Kansas.

Morgan Yuncker pitched a total of 12 innings at the USF Tournament over the weekend. She pitched two complete games, earning victories in both appearances. She finished the weekend with an ERA of 1.50 and gave up a total of seven hits. Against Quinnipiac on March 10, she allowed for only one run in a 9-1 victory after 5.0 innings of play. She struck out four batters against Wagner, and only walked two batters during tournament play. She has a 2-0 record on the season, and a team-best 1.74 ERA in 20.2 innings this season.
