Falcons Picked to Place Second in MAC's East Division

The members of the Mid-American Conference media have had their say, and the Bowling Green State University football Falcons have been picked to finish second in the East Division in 2012. The MAC's football preseason poll was announced Tuesday morning (July 24) at the league's annual Football Media Day at Ford Field in downtown Detroit.
Ohio was selected to win the East Division, with 119 total points and all 17 first-place votes, followed by the Falcons with 91 points. Miami (84 points) was tabbed for third in the East, followed by Kent State, Buffalo, Akron and UMass.
In the West Division, Toledo was picked to win, with Northern Illinois predicted to place second. Western Michigan was tabbed for third place, with Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan rounding out the poll.
Head coach Dave Clawson and student-athletes Chris Jones and Matt Schilz represented the Falcons in Detroit, meeting with various members of the media on Tuesday morning at Ford Field.
