Hammond, Uhl Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Andrew Hammond and women's basketball player Jen Uhl.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Hammond, a sophomore from Surrey, British Columbia, helped the Falcons pick up two points in the conference standings with a tie and shootout win Friday against Western Michigan. After holding the Broncos to one goal and posting 31 saves in 65 minutes, he stopped all Bronco shootout attempts en route to the victory. Saturday, he added 30 more saves in a 3-1 loss and had a 1.92 goals against average on the weekend and a .938 save percentage.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jen Uhl, a senior from Wadsworth, Ohio, led the Falcons in scoring and rebounding as BGSU went 2-0 on the week. She averaged 16.0 points and 9.5 rebounds, shooting 45 percent from the field and making 6-of-11 three-pointers. She had 18 points and seven rebounds in a 67-64 win at Northern Illinois and then had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in a home win over Ball State.
