BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- On Friday night, friends and supporters of the Falcon hockey program gathered to meet and greet first year head coach Chris Bergeron and his staff. Held in the Sebo Center's Wilcox Board Room, friends of the feathered that included athletic and University administrators, Falcon Club members and alumni of the program all gathered over a social gathering to hear the inspirational words of their new head coach as the program begins a new era.
Lead off by a time for socialization, BGSU Athletic Director Greg Christopher introduced Bergeron to the crowd that numbered over a hundred in attendance. After turning the program over to the new head coach, Bergeron took the time to introduce his family, his new coaching staff and put those listening at ease with the direction that the program will be taking in the coming months leading towards the 2010-11 campaign. Newly hired assistant coaches Ty Eigner and Barry Schutte were also introduced and had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with those loyal to the Brown and Orange.
The Falcons will begin the regular season at home to open the newly renovated BGSU Ice Arena, against CCHA foe Michigan Wolverines on Friday, October 8, 2010. The team looks to improve upon a 5-25-6 (4-20-6-5) season and a first round exit from the CCHA Tournament.
