Bowling Green To Play Valparaiso For BracketBusters Game

Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will host Valparaiso University at 2 p.m. on Feb. 20 for the 2010 ESPN BracketBusters series, as announced today.
Bowling Green is 4-3 all-time in the ESPN BracketBusters series and holds a perfect 7-0 record all-time against Valparaiso. The two programs, however, have not met since a 60-59 Falcons win on Dec. 17, 1979.
Valparaiso is 11-12 overall and has a mark of 6-5 in the Horizon League. Bowling Green has played two other Horizon League schools this year, losing to both Detroit and Wisconsin Milwaukee. Valparaiso has played three other Mid-American Conference schools this season, beating Toledo and losing to both Ball State and Akron. The Crusaders have also played three schools that were ranked in the top six in the country at the time of the contest, losing to North Carolina, Michigan State, and Purdue.
By playing in the BracketBusters series, Bowling Green will be contractually obligated to play a game at Valparaiso in the 2010-11 season. The Falcons are 6-1 in return games in the series, having beaten Canisius earlier this year.
