In the Spotlight: Kyle Page
September 29, 2009 | Ice Hockey
As the countdown to Bowling Green State University hockey continues, we look to unveil the men behind the facemasks of Falcon hockey. Each week, visit bgsufalcons.com to hear from and see featured BGSU hockey players talk about the upcoming season, their careers and learn a little more about them off of the ice.
Kicking off "In the Spotlight" is senior captain Kyle Page. Page is the defensive mainstay for the Falcons this season and will be expected to mentor a young core of defensemen as well as lead the Brown and Orange through the 2009-10 season. He, senior Brian Moore and junior Andrew Krelove are the only returning defensemen from a season ago.
More Kyle Page highlights:
• Page will be named the captain of the Falcons for the second straight year. In 2008-09, he shared the captain's "C" with former Falcon Tim Maxwell.
• He was named to the 2006-07 All-CCHA Honorable Mention team and was a candidate for the CCHA's Best Defenseman Award.
• Page is a two-time winner of the Jim Ruehl Award given to BGSU's top defensive player at year's end.
• He has been named to the CCHA's Scholar-Athlete team in back-to-back years (2007-08 and 2008-09) and has a cumulative GPA of 3.62 while majoring in Sport Management.
• Page set career-highs in goals, assists and points last season (4-10--14).
