BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Some notes and numbers from the Falcons' 72-21 win over Ohio University Saturday (Oct. 5) ...

The Falcons' total of 72 points was the third-highest in school history, and the most points ever scored by a BGSU team in a Mid-American Conference game ... the school record for points in a single game is 151, amassed vs. Findlay in 1921 ... BG scored 73 points in a 1956 contest vs. Defiance ... the former school record for points in a MAC game was 58, vs. Akron in 1998.

BGSU had a school-record 37 first downs to the Bobcats' 12 ... the old record was 33 first downs, set in the Falcons' 1995 meeting with Ohio ... BGSU's 22 rushing first downs fell just one shy of that school record (23, three times).

Bowling Green scored 37 points in the first half ... the Falcons have scored 30 points or more in the first half in three of this season's four games.

The Falcons scored five touchdowns in each half ... BGSU has scored 26 touchdowns in four games this year, and the Falcons are averaging 50.75 points per game.

Josh Harris scored two rushing touchdowns for the sixth consecutive game, dating to last season ... he tied a career record with four TD passes against Ohio, matching his total in the 2001 win over Toledo ... Harris was 19-of-24 through the air for 297 yards and no interceptions ... he rushed for 75 yards on 15 carries.

BGSU amassed a total of 692 yards of offense in the game, just 14 yards off the school record ... the record is 706 yards, set vs. Grand Valley in 1978 ... the 2002 Falcons had over 500 yards of total offense for the third-straight game ... BGSU is averaging 523.8 yards per game this year.

P.J. Pope had a game-high 117 yards rushing, the first 100-yard game of his career ... Pope is the first freshman running back to have 100 yards or more in a game since Josh Harris had 103 against Miami in 2000 ... Harris, now the BGSU starting quarterback, started that Miami game at tailback.

Charles Sharon set career bests in both receptions and receiving yards, with seven catches for 92 yards.

Robert Redd tied his career high with three TD receptions ... Redd also had three TD grabs vs. Kent State in 1999.

The Falcons scored over 50 points in a game for the second time this season ... that ties a school record ... BGSU teams also had two 50-point games in 1959, 1968 and 1994.

B.J. Lane had 75 yards rushing on 10 carries ... the redshirt freshman had entered the game with 20 yards on five carries this season ... his performance against Ohio included a 48-yard touchdown run, the first TD of his career.

Nate Fry kicked the extra point after Lane's TD run ... for Fry, the point was his first as a Falcon.

BGSU had entered the game ranked fourth in the nation in scoring offense (43.7), eighth in total offense (469.3) and ninth in rushing offense (232.0) ... the Falcons upped their averages in all four categories, with 72 points, 692 total yards and 349 rushing yards.

Josh Harris entered the contest as the nation's scoring leader, averaging 16.0 points per game ... he scored "only" 12 points vs. Ohio ... Shaun Suisham was fifth in the NCAA stats in field goals (2.0 per game) and 11th in scoring (11.0 ppg) ... he went 1-for-1 in the FG department, but made eight points after touchdown to match his average with 11 points on the day.

Pat Fleming began the day ranked eighth in the country in punting (44.3) ... he was called upon to punt just once vs. Ohio, and got off a 46-yarder.

The Falcons will play the team's first MAC intradivisional game as a member of the West Division next Saturday (Oct. 12), heading to Central Michigan.
