Ivi Casagrande, a former Bowling Green women’s soccer player, has rejoined the team as the Sports Performance Graduate Assistant. Casagrande, a defender from 2010-13 received her bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Sciences from BGSU in 2014, and is now pursuing a master’s degree in exercise physiology.
Most recently, in the summer of 2016 Casagrande interned at the sports performance company EXOS, where she trained professional athletes from various sports. In that same summer, she also served as a strength and conditioning intern for the LA Galaxy MLS program in addition to Academy teams, LA Galaxy USL team, and LA Galaxy MLS first team.
Casagrande also had the experience of working as an assistant manager for tour with the Australian National Team at the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. In the summer of 2015, Casagrande worked for the Brazilian Delegation at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
In her playing time at Bowling Green, Casagrande earned two honorable mentions on the Academic All-MAC Team, and played in a total of 49 matches including 17 starts. Casagrande was also credited with two assists in her career.
Prior to BGSU, Casagrande graduated from the American School of Belo Horizonte in Brazil in 2010, where she played for three semesters and had 10 goals and 16 assists as a senior. Casagrande also attended Colegio Santo Antonio and Izabela Hendrix, and earned the Silver Medal for Academic Achievement in both 2008-09, and 2009-10, in addition to being named to the All-Star team at three different tournaments. In 2007, Casagrande was also pre-selected for the Brazilian U17 National Team.
